Thanks! I;ve used canvas painter's dropcloths as well, but the texture is too coarse for detailed portraiture. I'm going to give this a shot =)

Hi, I am very interested in bedsheets because it is in my line of work. I never ever thought to use 100% cotton bedsheets to be used as canvas, because I also sell 100% cotton canvases as well, which is much thicker than bedsheets. For the canvas in your pic, how thick is the material? Is it normal thin bedsheets, or 100% cotton canvases, they have vastly different texture but both are made from 100% cotton. Which one is it that you use, the thin ones?

Hi Leslie,

I saw your offer online of buy 2 DVDs and get 1 free but cannot seem to get it to open to be able to buy it. What DVDs can you order.....I wanted to have the ones on portrait painting.

I live in Australia so won't be able to take you up on the offer of tuition much as I would love to have been able to.

I looked on the Genesis website but couldn't see the offer on there so don't know if it is current or not.

Thank you..... Toni

A friend recently gave me some Gemini paint & a heat gun. I didn't want to use it until I knew more about the medium and the tools with which to apply it.
This tutorial is so easy to follow that I can't wait to get started. I particularly liked the pictorial aspect...if only our schools and colleges could be this user-friendly!

Hi Leslie,

What an interesting technique. I have just started to paint in the last year or so - I am (trying)lol to paint portraits as well. My portraits are coming along - but they seem to take FOREVER!!!
It's hard to start a painting and use the right colors for the underpainting. Sometimes I get lost with the colors and subtle shading. I would really appreciate the name of the program you use - hopefully I can purchase it - here in Canada.
Great work!!
Thank-you,
Sheryl J

Hi Leslie....what computer program did you use? Your son's portrait is FABULULOUS!! I have been tweeking my grand daughters portrait for two years and still not happy with it. I do OK in other areas, but not happy with my portrait attempts. Perhaps, as you suggest, I should invest in a program. Thanks in advance.
